Delta GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) is a youth enrichment program for young women sponsored by the Pontiac Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. The program goals include:

• Instilling the need to excel academically.

• Providing tools that enable girls to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success.

• Assisting young women in proper goal setting and planning for their futures high school and beyond.

• Creating compassionate, caring, and community minded young women and actively involve them in service advocacy and community service opportunities.

The Delta GEMS meet one to two times a month from October through June, to participate in community service and activities that will enhance your cultural, educational, and social development. We believe Delta GEMS will be a wonderful opportunity for you to discover your talents, improve your confidence, and develop a sense of personal growth that will assist with you in achieving your maximum potential as a young woman.

To apply for the Pontiac Alumnae Chapter Delta GEMS Program, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Must be entering or attending high school in the fall in grades 9, 10, 11, or 12

• Must reside in one of the Pontiac Alumnae Chapter’s service areas: Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Clarkston, Commerce Township, Independence Township, Keego Harbor, Lake Angelus, Lake Orion, Oakland Township, Orchard Lake, Orion Township, Pontiac, Rochester, Rochester Hills, Sylvan Lake, Troy, Walled Lake, Waterford, West Bloomfield, and Wolverine Lake

If you are interested in participating in the Delta GEMS program sponsored by Pontiac Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated you must:

• Complete this online application (which includes an essay, letter of recommendation, and sign the permission notice and statement)

• Participate in a virtual interview with program leaders

• Attend the virtual Parent Youth Orientation with your parent(s)/guardain(s)
