Salute to Our Young Heroes is a mentor-based scholarship Beautillion program presented by the Pontiac Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.. The program is designed to support and empower African American male high school juniors and seniors.
This initiative provides young men with opportunities for cultural enrichment, community engagement, leadership development, and structured fundraising to support their pursuit of higher education.
The goals of Salute to Our Young Heroes are to:

Inspire academic excellence by equipping participants with tools and strategies to achieve high levels of success

Foster meaningful relationships that encourage support, accountability, and personal growth during the transition into adulthood

Develop essential life skills, including goal setting, planning, and future readiness
-
Cultivate compassionate, service-driven young men who are actively engaged in advocacy and community service
Program Eligibility Requirements:
To participate in the Salute to Our Young Heroes program, applicants must:

Reside within the Pontiac Alumnae Chapter service area

Be an African American male high school junior or senior

Submit a completed application packet

Provide all required consent forms with parent/guardian signatures

Submit signed local and national Codes of Conduct (applicant and parent/guardian)

Attend the mandatory applicant/parent orientation
-
Actively participate in all meetings, assignments, and special events
(Note: Participants who fail to maintain consistent involvement without approved justification may become ineligible to continue in the program and attend year-end celebrations.)
